automated arrivals is a touch-screen system that allows patients to check themselves in for an appointment.

Simple to install and easy to use, automated arrivals:

  • Makes an immediate impact
  • Releases reception staff to perform those tasks that require more demanding levels of patient interaction.

automated arrivals is fully integrated with your practice management system and is aware of all appointments made with doctors, nurses or other healthcare professionals working at the practice.

Patient identification

The system identifies the arriving patient either from the touch-screen entry of their date of birth or the recognition of their fingerprint.

The latter requires a fingerprint registration process but once completed the arrivals process is highly streamlined, fast and accurate, requiring only two touch-screen actions by the patient.

Within seconds, the patient is informed of who they are seeing and the approximate waiting time until their appointment.

Simple configuration

A set of configuration options enables the practice to:

  • Specify a late arrivals period. If a patient arrives after the specified late arrivals time they are asked to report to the reception desk
  • Detect patients with an EMIS Alerts Manager screen message and direct them to the reception desk
  • Communicate a general message to all patients such as "Have you had your flu jab?"
  • Display specific messages to a patient, or group of patients, dependent on age, sex and doctor. For example, to inform patients of the presence of students or video equipment
  • Offer multiple languages appropriate to the local area
  • Direct patients to different waiting areas
  • Manage clinical servers with multiple databases.

Integrated systems

In addition, PAERS can provide patients with access to Electronic Medical Records and a Health Information Portal. By purchasing a fingerprint enabled automated arrivals system your practice will have a smooth upgrade path for the adoption of these systems.
